Fabulous hotel
We had a swim up pool access room on the main pool facing the pool bar and it was absolutely perfect. The bar wasn't noisy and shuts by 5pm so no disturbance at all. The room was spacious with great AC. Plenty of bottles of water and towels provided each day. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food and drink was really reasonable for a hotel and plenty to choose from for breakfast. It's in a perfect location with easy walking to restaurants, the beach, the main road, the markets etc. I can't wait to go back.

Highly recommended. Fantastic quiet retreat
The location was brilliant. Plenty of restaurants at your doorstep. A personal favourite was tuktik a couple doors down. Cafes, shops, massage and laundry all close by. The beach was less than a 5 minute walk. A nice atmosphere in the area without being overcrowded. The resort itself was serene with gorgeous green areas. Plenty of sun beds around the pool and always available. Great variety of western and Thai options for breakfast every morning. The staff were very helpful and polite. The bed was super comfy and good quality pillows. I would happily return to this resort.
The room we were giving was close to the Main Street which had a bar that played music at night to about 11:30/12. You could hear it from the room but it wasn’t obnoxiously loud. Not the biggest deal for us but would have been nice to be on a quieter side. The room itself was a little worn. The bathroom was a little grimy and some fixtures could’ve done with a deep clean/replacement. We tried to use the gym one morning but the air con didn’t seem to be on and only had 1 small fan to share. We didn’t last long with the heat in there.

What was the highlight of The Waters Khao Lak by Katathani
Exceptional
We liked the peace and quiet. The layout of pool access blocks works really well, and there is good space in the pools. The location is great for shopping and food at night outside. The staff are considerate. The breakfast is adequate to enjoy each morning. We had two stays here within 3 weeks, the first about a week, the last three nights. Both times, we were very happy. The shorter stay we were further from the main pool, but we liked this as it was quieter away from the street bat music.
We don't like that it states no smoking rooms, but if you go outside on your balcony, guests can smoke so the smoke blows across you or rises up. Idont understand why the hotel does not offer blocks as smoking and non-smoking completely. So beware of thos if you have health conditions or just do t like others smoke The other issue for us was guest would play personal music and staff did not appear to manage this so you could be disturbed at the pool or outside your room. The evening menu is limited, and on the way in, they advertise things that you can't be served, so don't get your hopes up. Check first.
